September 2024 Goals

September feels like the beginning of fall. Change is in the air, the leaves are starting to show signs that they will be changing color soon, and the kids are back in school, which makes it the perfect time to level up and learn a new skill or try something new!

Expanding your knowledge and skills does not always need to occur in a classroom, so if there is something new you want to learn or try, I would encourage you to do it!!

Let's make some changes before the New Year! It's never too early to get a head start.

Goals for September:

September 2024 Goals

Try Something New

We get so set in our patterns. It's good to mix it up and try something new. It can be as simple as trying a new healthy meal, a place to eat, learning a skill, doing something you've always wanted to do, or exploring a new area! Even if you do something small, taking the first step to accomplishing a bigger goal will give you the momentum to keep going!

What is something that you've always wanted to do, but can't seem to find the time?

What's the worst thing that could happen?

You discover that you don't enjoy it or it's not for you. I would much rather find that out now than be stuck with regret than thinking I'm missing out on the greatest thing.

Another way of looking at it is, what's the *best* thing that could happen?

You discover a new passion, and it changes your life! 😁

September 2024 Goals

Read At Least 2 Books

I've been on a reading roll this year. For September, my goal is to complete reading at least two books. Currently, I am reading Good Energy by Casey Means. It's been fabulous so far! This book was a tough one to track down! It was backordered *almost* everywhere! Luckily, a small local bookstore had one in stock!

I'm still figuring out the second book I will read this month, so if you have any recommendations, please comment below.

September 2024 Goals

Learn a New Skill

You may learn a new skill from one of the two goals above. However, I am challenging you and myself to learn a new skill that will improve your life. It could be big or small. It could be a personal or professional skill. Anything that will make your life easier.

September 2024 Goals

Go Outside and Get a Change of Scenery

As fall is fast approaching, it's important to get outside to enjoy the weather and get a change of scenery. The weather will begin to cool, and many of us will be stuck indoors for longer hours. I can always tell when I've been inside a little too much, I feel drained, less energized, and my skin looks dull. In today's world, it's so easy to get stuck inside all day with work and other tasks, and the next thing you know, the day is over.

For this month, I am prioritizing getting outside more. Some simple tips I will utilize to get outside more will be to go on a walk after my meals, and set a timer throughout the day to go outside every couple of hours for a mini break to enjoy the sunshine! During the day, I plan to take 15-minute mini-reading breaks outside, that way I will get through my books and get some Vitamin D. A perfect Win-Win!

September 2024 Goals

Sleep for Success

For September, I plan to go to bed no later than 10:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday. Ideally, it would be earlier, but I'm trying to be realistic with my goals and set myself up for success.

We all know getting a good night's sleep works wonders for the mind and body! But did you know sleep also helps to improve learning ability? I recently read an article titled "The Impact of Sleep on Learning and Memory" from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. The article cited research by two MIT professors that found a correlation between students' test scores and sleep. Students who got more sleep during a semester achieved higher test scores compared to those who slept less. The article also stated, "In the last 20 years, scientists have found that sleep impacts more than just students’ ability to perform well; it improves their ability to learn, memorize, retain, recall, and use their new knowledge to solve problems creatively."

Although some of us might not still be in school, the takeaway that sleep is vital is an important reminder in our 24/7 on-the-go society.

September 2024 Goals

Workout for a Strong Mind and Body

Fitness and working out will always be a lifelong goal and habit of mine, as well as encouraging others to incorporate it into their lives.

The benefits of working out and their positive impact on our health and bodies are truly amazing. Exercising increases your cognitive function and learning ability, as well as improves your memory! So in addition to getting more sleep, working out should also be a priority.

If you're ready to change your workout routine and try something new, or perhaps, you've hit a workout rut, or have fallen off your fitness journey, no worries, there is never a better time to jump back in! Working out is vital for our health and well-being, but it should also be fun!

There are so many exciting things coming to Sculptness® this fall. Whether you are looking for a class that's 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 45 minutes, or more, we got a workout for you!

Now that you've seen some of my September goals. I would love to hear about some of yours and what new skills you plan to learn this Fall!
