FEBRUARY 2024 GOALS

Can You believe it? We are two months into 2024. I hope you found success in January. If not, February is the perfect time to get back on track, and if you've found success in January, February is the time to level up!

FEBRUARY 2024 GOALS

💜 GO ON A 30-MINUTE WALK OUTSIDE AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK

Walking is so beneficial for your health! However, walking outside in winter?! That can be tricky in the Midwest, as the weather is crazy and unpredictable. You can literally go through all 4 seasons in one week. 😬 But with a little determination, I won't let the cold weather hold me back from getting out there and walking. However, in the cold times, I wish I lived somewhere tropical. LOL

✨🌙 💤 ESTABLISH A NIGHTLY BEDTIME ROUTINE

I love routines. I unofficially started establishing a morning routine last month with my early rise and no technology for the first hour. This month, I want to focus on establishing a night-time routine. I plan on experimenting this month to find out what I like and what works best for me. I'm thinking my one hour of no technology in the morning will be applied to my nightly routine before bed, too!

FEBRUARY 2024 GOALS

🥬🌽🥕 EAT MORE VEGGIES

I will add more veggies to my meals. I have a love/hate relationship with veggies. As a child, I never craved carrots and celery. I always looked at veggies as an acquired taste that I did not have. But as I've gotten older, I've realized the importance of adding veggies to my meals.

Vegetables are indeed an acquired taste, but did you know that repeated exposure can lead to the development of your taste preferences towards veggies? A government study with rodents found that the proteins developed in saliva play a role in this process. We create these proteins with repeated exposure to the vegetables. So, if you're not a fan of veggies yet, don't give up! Keep trying! Let's keep preparing them in different ways and develop those proteins. Your body will thank you for it, and who knows, you might even end up loving the veggies!

Also, veggie lovers out there, any other advice is always appreciated! 😉

FEBRUARY 2024 GOALS

⏰ WAKE UP AT 6:30 AM M-F

I feel good waking up early. I like getting my day started. I am super focused in the morning, and I like that I can accomplish many of my daily tasks during this time before the hustle and bustle of the day takes over. I adjusted the time from last month's goal of 6 am to 6:30 am based on the time I naturally like to go to bed. Maybe next month, I will try setting an earlier bedtime and evaluate how it affects my routine. Life is all about finding what works for you!

FEBRUARY 2024 GOALS

📱 🖥️ NO PHONE OR COMPUTER IN THE FIRST HOUR OF WAKING UP

I had this goal in January, and it is one of my favorites! If you haven't tried it yet, you totally should!

It's super easy and sets the tone for the rest of the day. My eyes feel so much better by not starting my day on the screen, and it does wonders for my brain clarity. During this time, I get to start working on something without interruptions and something that's not tied to a screen...think old school pen and paper 😂

FEBRUARY 2024 GOALS

💪 PRACTICE GRATITUDE EVERY DAY

It's important not only to build our physical muscles but also our mental muscles. I started this in January by taking a moment each day to reflect on at least one thing I was grateful for that day. 🙌 This simple exercise has made me feel more appreciative of the little things in life and improved my overall mental well-being.

FEBRUARY 2024 GOALS

🧘‍♀️ MEDITATE DAILY

Last month, I had a practice of daily deep breathing. During February, I would like to expand that practice into a 5-minute daily meditation. I believe that the body thrives on movement while the brain needs stillness. It's all about the balance - yin and yang. I'm thrilled to start my day with meditation and then energize my body with a Sculptness® fitness class that provides my body with the movement it needs to thrive. I always feel refreshed and energized to take on the day after my workout.

I know from experience sometimes the most challenging part of working out or meditating is just showing up to classes or setting that time aside. And let's face it, we live busy lives, and the distractions are endless. However, I promise that if you commit to yourself and show up, you will feel amazing at the end of just one month.

Now that you have seen some of my February goals, what are some of yours?
