Last month, my friend held a tea party! It was so cute and such a great idea. I would highly recommend it! It was a perfect way to be fancy and catch up with friends.
For this tea party, I was in charge of bringing the dessert. Now I know what some of you are thinking, a personal trainer bringing dessert?! Uhhh...How healthy or tasty is this dessert going to be? Well, I live by the 80/20 rule when it comes to healthy choices. So this dessert was going to be a regular dessert and something to indulge in. And since I live by the 80/20 rule, I enjoyed it guilt-free.
Cupcakes are my favorite, and I had the perfect recipe I couldn't wait to make for the girls! I've made cupcakes before, but I've never tried decorating them past simply spreading on the icing. This time, I decided I would be fancy (it was for a tea party, after all 😉). So I tried to make cute designs and flowers on the tops of these cupcakes, and I discovered that I'm good at making icing flowers. LOL, it was so surprising as I've never taken any cake decorating classes before.
It goes to show that you should always try new things and challenge yourself. Who knows, you might even surprise yourself and discover a new talent. I still crack up about being a personal trainer who's good at cupcake decorating. Haha, I *almost* made them too pretty to eat.
This month, I plan on continuing to try new things. Who knows maybe I will discover another new skill.
